Meet Tim Celen, the rising star of paracycling who overcomes obstacles with determination.
The world of paralympic sports is constantly evolving and under the new stars that emerge, Tim Celen takes a special place. He's only 25 years old and has already three world titles to his name and won two medals at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. But what made his career more remarkable, is his ability to leverage his disability to achieve his goals. Tim has had hemiplegia since childhood, a condition which reinforced his character and iron will.
Tim was an avid athlete from an early age and was always driven by a competitive spirit. After soccer he discovered para-cycling, a discipline that inspired him to become a champion. At a age of just 18 years old, he took part in the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The year after, he won his first international title in Maniago, Italy, and since then has won a series of the most prestigious competitions.
Tim is aware of his disability and has made it his strength. He now recognizes the positive impact it has had on his life and career. With the help of his trainer, Remko Meeusen, he follows a training plan specifically tailored to his goals, which he combines with strength training at Basic-Fit.
